Basement Addition
A basement addition was considered necessary in this home, where the needs of the homeowners for more living space gave no other choice. That was possible with this home whose one side is ground level and so the new basement addition joined this space with the garage. The homeowners can now walk straight from the garage into their basement, where the space was designed to host a kitchen, a bathroom, the laundry room – a full apartment, actually.
Old materials and fixtures were removed and once the building of the basement addition was complete, there was a full kitchen remodel and bathroom remodel. The laundry room was remodeled too, the walls painted, new flooring was added. To make the basement particularly bright, large openings and windows were installed. The basement bathroom features a herringbone tile flooring pattern, olive green cabinets, a walk-in shower with marble wall tiles, and a window. The new kitchen is floating so that all plumbing and electrical will travel underground. The new kitchen design is modern with a corner island, white cabinets, and black appliances. With the basement addition, the homeowners have more storage room, living space, a new cave for their activities, lots of space for guests and entertainment.
